DESIGN SCHOLARSHIP

Kering and Phaidon have partnered for the launch of Woman Made, a book celebrating and supporting the work of great women designers, past, present and future.

As a part of this partnership, and in alliance with their commitment to empowering women, Kering is proud to present the Women In Motion Design Scholarship. Founded by Kering in 2015, Women In Motion is a program dedicated to spotlighting women’s contributions in the field of culture and the arts.

The Women In Motion Design Scholarship is an award of up to $25,000 to support one outstanding undergraduate woman designer that will go towards supporting their college tuition and fees for the 2022-2023 academic year.

The Women In Motion Design Scholarship is available to women currently enrolled in an undergraduate design program at an accredited university, and whose work is centered around product, furniture, textile or lighting design.

Eligibility for Scholarship:

• Student is a woman
• Applicants must major in design with a focus on product, furniture, textile and lighting design
• Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited university within North America and be entering their Sophomore or Junior year. Applicants must also maintain good academic standing throughout the disbursement of this scholarship
• U.S. Citizens (not a Temporary Resident), U.S. Nationals, U.S. Permanent Residents, Refugees, Asylees, Cuban-Haitian Entrants, or Humanitarian Parolees - based on the guidelines utilized by U.S. Department of Education for Federal Financial Aid eligibility. Students who are Canadian citizens are also eligible to apply
• Applicants must demonstrate a need for financial assistance by applying for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
• Applicants from Canada will need to send applicable documentation proving their unmet financial need once they have applied to their provincial student aid office
• Scholarship aid may be applied against tuition, applicable educational expenses, and room and board

As part of the application process, individuals are also asked to submit a portfolio of their design work along with a short video.
